August 2018
Sunday August 5th 10:00am a walk organised by Clwydian Ramblers with Becky Clews Robers in search of the red squirrels of Clocaenog Forest with Becky Clews-Roberts, the Red Squirrel Ranger in Clocaenog
Join Shirley of Clwydian Ramblers and Becky for a 5 mile walk-talk in Clocaenog Forest. They hope to investigate and view some camera footage of squirrel activity in the forest. Meet at Forestry Car Park north off the B5105 Ruthin to Cerrigydrudion road at Grid Reference SJ 054 520, nearest postcode (not exact) LL15 2NN.
Please bring a picnic and a drink, also binoculars if you have them.

Saturday August 11th 10:00am, a visit to the Llangollen Railway construction site at Corwen
Llangollen Railway are nearing the end of their project to extend the railway into a new station at Corwen Central

Wednesday August 15th 5:00pm, 3rd AGM of Friends of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Llanarmon-yn-Ial Old Schoolroom
It is planned to organise a visit to the church and a local place of interest. Details will be confirmed.

September 2018
On 3 days in September there's a set of joint event with AONB staff, there will be an opportunity to walk the whole of the Llangollen canal World Heritage Site, from the Horseshoe Falls at Llantysilio to the English border near Chirk as part of the AONB Outstanding Week. That's a distance of 13 miles each way, but spread over 3 days.
Monday 17th September, walk from Horseshoe falls Llantysilio to the Sun at Trevor and back, about 8 miles.

Wednesday 19th September, walk from the Sun Inn at Trevor to the Trevor Basin and back. about 6 miles.

Friday 21st September, walk from Trevor Basin to the English border and back, about 8 miles.

One of the features of this stretch of the canal is the absence of canal locks, so all three walks are flat.
October 2018
Saturday 6th October, a walk with Jeff Morgan in the Clwydian Hills above Tremeirchion.
The walk will start in the top carpark of the Dinorben Arms, Bodfari. Jeff describes it as "a 3 hour walk into the Clwydian Range above Tremeirchion following Offa’s Dyke Path and returning via Clwydian Way. Excellent views over Clwyd Valley and to coast."
